Selective Process

For Brazilians

The Master's Program is offered to any holder of an undergraduate degree at an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC).
The selection process takes place in three stages, as described below:
  • First Stage – Result of the ANPAD Test according to the criteria defined in the Public Call (Knockout Stage).
  • Second Stage – Analysis of the Candidate's Academic Profile according to the rating scale as per the Selection Public Call (Qualifying Stage).
  • Third Stage – Objective Assessment involving knowledge on Financial and Management Accounting (Knockout Stage).

For Foreigners

The selection process of foreign candidates is carried out based on UFBA standards and the criteria established by the Collegiate of the Program. Therefore, it is necessary that the candidates meet the following requirements:
  • Are citizens of a country that holds diplomatic relations with Brazil;
  • Do not have a permanent visa in Brazil;
  • Hold an undergraduate degree;
  • Present a certificate of proficiency in Portuguese (Celpe-Brasil); 
  • Present a resumé (curriculum vitae).
 
Foreign students may apply for UFBA’s Master’s in Accountancy:
  • Through the PEC-PG Program, granted by CAPES and CNPq. For more information ABOUT THE PROGRAM, click HERE!
  • Through a specific Selection Process carried out directly by the PPGCONT/UFBA. For more information, click HERE!
  • Candidates willing to obtain a prior "Letter of Acceptance" must forward the following documents to the PPGCONT Secretariat:
  • A Research Project (up to 10 pages) compatible with our lines of research;
  • A resumé (Curriculum Vitae);
  • School Records and a University Degree diploma duly stamped by the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate, in case the courses were held outside of Brazil; and
  • A Cover Letter (up to 2 pages) explaining the reasons that led the candidate to choose our program.
The documents must be sent to the PPGCONT secretariat by e-mail (ppgcont@ufba.br) and by international mail. After receiving the documents, the Program Collegiate will analyze the application, and report on the result within 30 days.
